We can offer both visits to the centre or someone to come out and give a talk at your school.  We can either give a 1 hour introductory talk on Buddhism and meditation or tailor a talk to fit your current topic on Buddhism.

The 1 hour introductory talk can include:

The life of Buddha Shakyamuni. An explanation of what meditation is and doing a short breathing meditation.  What it means to live in a Buddhist community and to be ordained.  An explanation of rituals including what a shrine is, listening to a mantra and engaging in physical prostrations - a Buddhist practise.

We always engage the children by asking them questions and giving them lots of time to ask their questions.

We have found this 1 hour talk to be very effective and enjoyable for the children.  Teachers are often surprised at how attentive and quiet they can be.  We do try to engage the children by offering different activites including listening and standing up to do prostrations.  You are also welcome to bring pencils and paper to do some drawing.  Although the talk is one hour, if visiting the centre, you are welcome to stay longer.

As we are a charity to cover our costs we charge 50p per child, £1 for 16's and over.  Also we charge for travel costs.
