Uma Centre offers a unique opportunity to experience the benefits of living in the peaceful environment of a Buddhist Centre. Uma Kadampa Buddhist Centre in Carlisle is a new and exciting development in the heart of the city centre, serving as a place of peace and refuge for residents, the general community and tourists alike.
We are situated only a few hundred yards from the main shopping area of this ancient castle city.
We have various size rooms to let at reasonable rates, with shared kitchen and bathrooms within a warm and friendly community of all ages. Whilst living at the centre you have the opportunity to join in our meditation classes, study programmes, chanted meditations and day courses all on your door step should you wish to explore the benefits of the Buddhist way of life.
In addition to our beautiful meditation room there is also our cafe and shop for you to relax in. With a smoke, alcohol, and TV free environment plus our vegetarian kitchen, it becomes a unique opportunity to explore the benefits of an alternative and meaningful way of life. There is also off street parking and wi-fi connection.
