Welcome to Uma Centre

"when the mind is peaceful, we naturally feel happy, contented, and relaxed - and this has a positive influence on everything we think, say and do."

Our website offers information on our classes and events as well as on the basics of meditation and Buddhist thought.  Please enjoy exploring and if there is any further information you need please contact us.

Uma Centre is a member of the New Kadampa Tradition : International Kadampa Buddhist Union founded by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso with over 1,200 centres and branches world wide.

We offer a variety of weekly classes:

Morning and Lunchtime Meditation Classes:  these offer simple meditations taken from the series of 'living meditation' CD's by Tharpa Publications.

Evening Classes:  with talks and meditations on Buddha's teachings from the New Kadampa Tradition founded by Geshe Kelsang Gyatso.

Foundation Programme:  an in-depth study of Geshe Kelsangs books with discussion.

We also offer workshops, day courses, open days and educational and group visits and have volunteer opportunities and residential accommodation available.

Further information on all of the above can be found by following the links or the menus at the top.
